• Identification of Duplicates currently present in the MPI. Our MPI Assessment analyzes the Master Patient Index (MPI) or Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) to isolate existing duplicate errors and identify where and how often identity errors occur within an organization.

• Cleanup of Duplicate MRNs - BASEmatch™ provides HIM professionals with a singular solution to recognize and permanently resolve duplicate MRNs.

• Accurate Identification - BASEshield™ recognizes identity errors at the registration process, before they are committed to the MPI or EMPI.

• Notification of Suspected Duplicate and Overlay Errors - BASEnotify ™ instantly notifies HIM staff of possible identity errors via email (e.g., creation of a duplicate MRN assignment or the overlay of one person's data with that of another person).

• Accurate Identification by swiping state Driver License or Military CAS Card - BASEscan expedites identification of patients and guarantors by swiping card through our reader to quickly identify and begin registration.

• Positive Patient Identification using biometric fingerprint techology - BASEmetric™ ensures accurate identification of returning patients using patient fingerprints. Can be used for both initial registration and recognizing patients presenting for scheduled procedures.

• Alert Hospital Staff When Designated Patients Present for Service - BASEalert™ is an early warning system to alert appropriate staff members when designated patients return to the hospital. Criteria for alerts are established by the hospital. Alerts take the form of an immediate online notice to the registrar or a background notice via email to select hospital personnel. BASEalert™ works independently or along with BASEshield™, BASEscan™ or BASEnotify™.

• Assigns a "lifetime" number to each patient and manages all the unique system identifiers within the healthcare enterprise - BASEempi™ allows hospital staff to locate patients anywhere in the enterprise. It provides active user interfaces so that registrars are able to identify returning patients accurately.  Passive alerts continually alert enterprise staff of potential error caused by duplicates and overlays.  The active user interfaces also add trememdous flexibility in attaching Medibase's imaging and biometric products to all systems. 


Medibase MPI Cleanup and Data Integrity Services

Medibase provides experienced staff to meet the specific needs of each project:

• Project Management to guide internal or external MPI cleanup efforts.

• Oversight management to continuously monitor contracted cleanup staff and ensure stringent HIM standards are maintained.

• Supplemental cleanup staff to assist with either merging duplicate records electronically, or physically consolidating charts and radiology film jackets.
